Since the company's inception in 2008, owners Patrick Wright and Shelly Bell have combined their collective experience to establish PrimOvations as one of Southeast Michigan's premier catering companies.


With more than 25 years in the event industry, Shelly's concentration is in special event coordination and design. Her amazing vision and attention to detail is widely recognized by industry professionals including the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS). She won the association's 2006 National Award in Convenience Store Design as director of Retail Operations at the University of Michigan (U of M). She previously spent 10 years as the Director of University Catering at the U of M. Her imaginative theme designs and execution of the University's Presidential Tailgates-that range from 500-1800 guests-raised the bar and became the bench mark for future events. From linens to flowers to buffet design - Shelly's artistic talents are second to none.

Chef Patrick's culinary background is a perfect match to Shelly's accomplishments. After 13 years at the University of Michigan as Chef of the Michigan Union & Retail Food Service Operations, Patrick became a local celebrity in the Ann Arbor area for his private, in-home and public cooking demonstrations. As a three-time culinary competition medalist, Patrick thrives on the challenges of creating interest and excitement through imaginative menu design. With a background in an array of cuisines, Patrick truly enjoys creating innovative and exciting dishes.
